Information You Provide

When you use GentlePrep, you may provide information such as your procedure date, prep type, and medication list. This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the app. This includes which features are used, session duration, and crash reports. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable health information through the app. Your hydration logs, stool clarity data, medication tracking, and prep progress remain entirely on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the GentlePrep app
• Understand how features are used so we can improve them
• Diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes
• Develop new features based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to improving GentlePrep.

3. Data Storage and Security

On-Device Storage

All health-related data (prep schedules, hydration logs, stool clarity, medications) is stored locally on your device using the operating system's secure storage mechanisms. This data is not backed up to our servers.

AI-Powered Features

GentlePrep includes AI-powered features (the Pip chat companion and instruction sheet scanner). When you use these features, the following data is sent to our AI service provider for processing:

• Your message or uploaded image
• Prep context: prep type, current phase, dose progress, and medication names
• Recent conversation history (for chat continuity)

This data is processed in real-time and is not stored by the AI service provider after processing. It is not linked to your identity. Your name is never sent.

Before using AI features for the first time, the app asks for your acknowledgment that prep details will be shared with our AI service. You can review which services process your data on our Subprocessors page.

Security Measures

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS) for any data transmitted between the app and our services. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

GentlePrep uses a limited number of third-party services. Each is listed on our Subprocessors page with details about what data they process and where they are located.

We do not:

• Sell your personal information to anyone
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use third-party tracking or analytics that identify individual users
• Embed social media trackers or pixels

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: All your data is stored on your device and accessible within the app.
• Delete your data: You can delete all app data at any time through the app's settings or by uninstalling the app.
• Opt out of analytics: You can disable anonymous usage data collection in the app's settings.
• Data portability: The recap report feature lets you export your prep data as a PDF.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what data is collected and the right to request deletion.

6. Children's Privacy

GentlePrep is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, if appropriate, notify users through the app. Your continued use of GentlePrep after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
